Terms

The basic terms that govern using this site and engaging me for free or paid work. Plain English; not a substitute for the actual engagement letter you’ll get if we work together. Last updated May 2026.

Who you’re dealing with

This site is published and operated by Alex Langton, a sole practitioner in independent paid-media advisory. There is no agency, no team, no “we.” If you contract for paid work, you’re contracting with me directly under a written engagement letter that supersedes anything on this page.

What the content here is, and isn’t

Everything published on this site (the red-flag entries, blog posts, free-audit framing, Chrome extension) is informational. It is my opinion based on roughly a decade of practitioner experience. It is not legal advice, financial advice, accounting advice, or a recommendation specific to your business. It is not a guarantee that following any suggestion will improve your campaign performance, save you money, or recover wasted spend. Paid media is messy and account-specific; what’s a red flag in one account can be perfectly defensible in another, with the right context.

If you read something here and act on it without engaging me directly to look at your situation, you do so on your own judgement. I think most of what’s here will help most readers most of the time, but I can’t see your account from here.

Engagements (free and paid)

  • Free audits and free questions are real. When I say “no charge, no pitch, no follow-up sequence,” that’s the actual deal. You’re not getting a free consultation that turns into a closing pitch.
  • Mutual NDA before access or recording review. Standard mutual non-disclosure signed before I look at an account or listen to a call. See the privacy page for what that covers in practice.
  • Recording review is conditional. Reviewing a recorded agency call is subject to your own recording policies, your jurisdiction’s consent rules, and your master services agreement with the agency. If any of those make a recording off-limits, we work from the written change-log and account state instead. The audit doesn’t depend on the recording.
  • Read-only. Account access during any audit is read-only. I don’t change campaign settings, pause anything, or apply recommendations. You revoke access at the end of the engagement; I’ll remind you if you forget.
  • No referral fees. I don’t take commissions, kickbacks, or revenue share from any agency, ad-tech vendor, attribution platform, or tool I might mention by name. If I recommend a vendor, it’s because I think they’d serve you well; my finances are not affected either way.

Intellectual property

Site copy, the red-flag entries, the blog posts, and the Chrome-extension code are mine. The extension source is shipped openly so you can read it before installing, but you don’t have the right to repackage or republish it as your own. Quote passages, screenshot pages, link to entries: that’s all welcome and how the site is supposed to spread. If you want to reproduce something at length (for a paid newsletter, a course, an internal training deck), email langtonac300@gmail.com and we’ll work it out.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of this site or anything published on it. For paid engagements, the engagement letter you sign defines liability for that specific piece of work; this page does not.

Changes

I’ll update this page if anything material changes: new tools, new disclosures, new engagement structures. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent meaningful change. The change-log is the git history of this site.
